Couples Ministry

Here on Purpose Marriage Ministry helping couples build strong, Christ-centered relationships.

January 25, 2026

You do not have to have a bad marriage to go to Marriage Ministry. In fact, it only makes your marriage better when you join with other Christian couples. Join us as we build and sustain strong couples through spiritual and educational foundations.

Ends this Wednesday, January 14th after service (8p)

 True nourishment begins with Him!

Jesus answered, ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’ — Matthew 4:4 (NIV)

Bread sustains the body, but it cannot sustain the soul. Jesus reminds us that true life is found not in what we consume, but in the Word of God. Our deepest hunger is spiritual, even when we try to satisfy it with something physical. During this fast, many of us are discovering where we have leaned on food—often the wrong kinds of food—not just for nourishment, but for comfort, relief, or escape. I have learned that I am an emotional eater. When feelings rise—whether joy, stress, sadness, or celebration—my instinct has often been to turn to food rather than to God. Fasting gently exposes those patterns. When the familiar comfort is removed, we are invited to redirect our steps—to pause, to pray, and to return to the Word when emotions surface. What once drove us toward food can now lead us toward God’s voice, His truth, and His presence.

Pray: Lord, reveal the places where I have turned to something other than You for comfort, strength, or peace. Remind me that You alone are what I truly need. Teach me to seek You first, and to trust Your Word to sustain me.

Put Into Action: Take time today to journal. Write down where you notice improvement—physically, emotionally, or spiritually. Note moments of temptation, what triggered them, and how you responded. Reflect on any eating habits or rhythms the Lord may be inviting you to carry forward after the fast ends.
