Are your ducks in a row?

To get your ducks in a row means to organize or prioritize your tasks and schedule so that you are ready for the next step. So if we prioritize – we give more attention to something before completing other things.

If there is one thing we focus on in our youth and kids ministries is making sure that God is #1 in our lives. We often get stressed out, burdened, and overwhelmed when our priorities are not in order. 

A lot of times we want to do the “fun” things in life first but having our priorities straight will tell a different story. We often think we should always be having fun or we should be entertained at all times. When most of the time things are just not fun, they are WORK! We see influencers and think that they have the best lives. They get free stuff, they are always on vacation…. And truth be told they work hours for those 5 minute videos and you are only seeing a glimpse into their lives. 

The Bible tells us to “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”  Matthew 6:33. When we put God first He will take care of us. He will give us peace, He will give us rest, and He will give us the desires of our hearts. He wants us to live a good life and wants to see our dreams come to pass but we must prioritize HIM!

And that is where we came up with this Acrostic for D..U.C.K.Y.

D – Did

U – You

C – “See the”

K – King

Y – Yet

In everything you do, seek God first. 

Having trouble in school….

Did you see the king yet? 

Problems at work…

Did you see the king yet? 

Should I date this person?

Did you see the king yet? 

But in all these things…. Seek God First!

Since you found a DUCKY, we encourage you to put it somewhere that you will see it daily to remind yourself to see the King first every day!
